Jackie has been homed. He will now be called Bosley and will live with lurcher friend Gypsy, and humans Hazel and April in the Stockport area. We wish them all every happiness for the future.
We’d like to take the opportunity to thank the Whitworth family for their love and care of Jackie while he was in foster with them, and particularly Edie and Thomas for looking after him so well. Thank you.
(Definition of a ‘pal’: a very close, intimate friend; comrade; chum)
Pal arrived at Makants in December last year. After spending some time in kennels he went into foster care to experience life in a home with another female greyhound for company. His foster carers have found him to be ‘a lovely dog, who enjoys plenty of cuddles,’ and they report he is gre...at with people too.
Pal is now being prepared by them to live in home and is having daily new experiences including meeting other breeds of dog. At the moment he is unsure of other dogs but is responding well to training from his foster carers. Any prospective adopter would need to continue this training.
Pal walks well on the lead and enjoys his walks.Pal’s foster carers also report that he has developed an endearing ‘half sit’ whereby he will sit beside you on the settee but with all his paws on the floor! It seems to get him some cuddles anyway!
If you would like to find out more about Pal or any other greyhounds currently in our care please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
This lucky girl will live with Anita and Keith in the Bolton area and we wish them every happiness in the future. Anita and Keith already know this girl has a serious 'toy addiction' and are prepared to keep her in the style she is accustomed to! We look forward to regular updates.
Three year old Flash is fairly new to our kennels having only arrived this month, but has already settled well. We have found him to be a friendly boy who loves neck rubs and is keen to play with toys.
Flashis a quiet lad who walks well on the lead too. He is gradually getting used to seeing other breeds of dogs which he previously did not know existed! Flash is enjoying new experiences and his daily walks are helping with this.
If you would like to find out more about Flash or any other hounds waiting for their forever homes please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
Hello supporters, it’s time for our Friday Feature again. Thinking about it maybe we should have changed the day this week as yesterday was “Thor’s day” (Thursday)!
Two year old Thor is fairly new to kennels so we are still getting to know him. What we can tell you is that he was quite timid when he first arrived at Makants earlier this month. Since then he has come on in leaps and bounds and has blossomed into a very affectionate dog who loves to play. Siobhan says he is excited to see visitors and collects toys, bringing them over asking to play.
Thor has become a firm favourite with the walkers as he is very good on the lead and is described as a ‘pleasure to walk’. He does not react to others dogs when out and about.
Thor seems to be a great all rounder with the potential to be a fantastic pet. If you would like to find out more about Thor please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
