We have fostered three dogs from Makants so far and now have our fourth - Wolfie.
We heard about the charity when we met another foster carer for Makants while walking on Aston fields. I'd been brought up with dogs when I lived at home (Kathleen) but we hadn't had any in our lives for many years. We both decided to foster because we have the time and space for a greyhound so that they don't have to be in kennels, and can provide a stepping stone towards a future family home. We get company, and a walking companion, coupled with the satisfaction of knowing that we have helped a dog.
I remember when we had our first foster greyhound 'gorgeous' George. I was walking him this one morning when, after having a wee, he did his usual with his back legs and started kicking the grass. As he started turning he got mud all over this white car and I didn't know where to put my face! It didn't put me off fostering though, and would recommend you get in touch if you're interested.
