This week we catch up with adopted Makants hound Badger. This lovely boy was adopted by Gina and Russ on 31st January 2016 and lives with furry rescue siblings Bud and Tara.
Badger has settled well into his role as Chief Sofa Tester and Gina describes him as 'one gorgeous big softie!' Nice to hear he is such a well loved hound. :)
If you have adopted a Makants hound and would like them to appear on our Throwback Thursday feature please send in a photo with some information to our facebook page. We love to hear how they are getting on :)
On Saturday we had a fantastic day fundraising in Westhoughton. It was a new location for us and we found everyone we met so friendly, we'll definitely be back again soon.
The stall holders on the market were particularly welcoming with raffle items donated by Westhoughton Cosmetics plus kind offers of water for the dogs from several stall holders....and best of all the market is dog friendly! Here's a few photos of the day.
This week we share a photo of adopted Makants hound Bruno who was adopted by Phil in January 2015.
Bruno is a lovely 'snowflake' hound and Phil lists Bruno's hobbies as riding on the back seat of the car listening to tunes, sardines, lots of cuddles and kisses and his bed. Sounds like he has got it made, lucky boy.
We are pleased to let you know we have received a donation for £434.69 from the Support Adoption for Pets charity. Our volunteer Lynda took kennel hound Moll to the Pets at Home, Leigh store to collect the cheque today.
It's been a year now since kennel hound Patrick had his photoshoot courtesy of our photographer Sue Costello. He still remains in our kennels, a much loved boy with his own fan club, but continues to wait for his forever home.
Patrick has been with us for over two years and although his confidence has improved he still remains wary of new people and certain everyday situations. Patrick would need a very patient adopter who would take things slowly, and at his pace. Any prospective adopters would need to be prepared to make as many visits to kennels as is required, in order to build up a strong relationship with him prior to any re-homing.
If you would like to find out more about Patrick please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
We are pleased to announce our first Social Dog Walk which will take place on Sunday 3rd September starting and ending at the Balcarres Arms Public House at Aspull. (WN2 1PA)
With many thanks to our host Karen who is looking forward to welcoming all Makants sighthound owners to her dog friendly pub. There will be a free buffet kindly provided by Karen, raffles and goods for sale.
