This week we feature one of our new lads in kennels - three year old Shakey. This hound has a lovely temperament and is a friendly boy who doesn’t react to larger dogs when out and about. On his walks he also has come across bicycles and met children, both of which hasn’t bothered him at all. (He hasn’t met any small dogs yet so we cannot judge his reaction to them).
Shakey is slowly learning about the world and is taking most things in his stride. He is, however, a little wary of traffic and initially was very frightened crossing the road. His volunteer walker Tom reports that he is starting to improve and appears to react well to confident handling. Shakey does walk well on the lead, he is a quiet boy who waits his turn and is not at all ‘pushy’. Shakey loves cuddles and outwardly shows his happiness by 'chattering' his teeth, which is just lovely to see!
We think Shakey is going to blossom into a fantastic pet and just needs a little reassurance and time. If you would like to find out more about Shakey featured here please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
