The best way to start the week is always with news of a homing....and this time it's Dino! This gorgeous shy lad will live with Denise and John in Didsbury, Manchester. We wish them every happiness together and look forward to regular updates.
Dino can now stop dreaming of his forever home, his dream has become reality :)
Stunning amber eyed two year old Piggy is fairly new to us, having come into kennels only in September. We have found him to be a friendly, well behaved boy who loves his walks and also to play with toys. He has not raced.
His friendly and calm nature has been a great asset to our fundraising team recently, Piggy always greeting humans and hounds in a friendly manner. Piggy really does love humans and, in order that this lovely boy gets the best start in his new home, we are looking for someone who is at home for most of the day.
Is there a space on a sofa out there somewhere for Piggy? If you can help please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988.
We're excited to share some homing news with you and this time the lucky hound is Thor.
This lovely lad was a favourite of Siobhan and Heather's at kennels and, while they will miss him, they are so pleased he has found his forever home. Thor will live in Kearsley, Bolton with Gaynor and Andy. We wish them all every happiness and hope they will keep in touch.
Our second auction has come to an end, parcels have been posted and several items have already been collected from kennels.
The auction, which was run by a ‘crack team’ of Makants volunteers - Fiona, Wendy and Lydia, turned into a military operation. Over the two weeks they posted over 300 items for sale, received and replied to over 450 messages and posted 30 parcels - bet the Post Office were pleased to see them that day!
We are very grateful to them all, especially to Lydia - being 14 years of age as we expect there are other things she would rather be doing with her time.
Our thanks also go to all auction customers – all 125 of you – for supporting us and the greyhounds in our care.
Stunning four year old Pippa is fairly new to our kennels, having only arrived in the middle of October this year.
Pippa is enjoying her time in kennels, having new experiences every day and taking things in her stride. She walks well on the lead, is a very friendly girl and greets everyone, as Siobhan says, ‘like she has known them all her life!’.
Pippa gets on well with the other greyhounds in kennels but hasn’t had previous experience of other breeds of dogs and can, therefore, sometimes be reactive when she sees smaller dogs when out walking. This behaviour is something that is being worked on each day by our volunteers.
We feel that Pippa has the potential to make a loving pet. If you would like to find out more about Pippa featured here please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
Here at Makants we are always looking for more volunteers to join us. Wherever your talents lie we're sure there's something you can help us with - be it fundraising, administration, walking the dogs, crafting or fostering - there's something for everyone!
Please get in touch if you want to be involved, the greyhounds will thank you for it.
Stunning three year old Zeek only came into our care last month but has already settled in well.
Initially he was a little shy but soon overcame this and has shown he has a fun side to his personality too. Zeek is easy to walk and does not react to other dogs when out and about.
He is an affectionate boy and Siobhan reports that everyone that meets him ‘falls in love’ with him.... and we think she could just be smitten too! It does sound as though Zeek won’t be single for long, so if you are looking for some love and affection in your life please don’t wait to get in touch. We also feel this lovely boy would benefit from a quiet home.
If you would like to find out more about Zeek or any of the other hounds in our care please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
