What a great way to start the week - we have news of a homing!
Lovely Mary has been homed in the Lancaster area with Anne and feline friend Frankie. We'd like to thank Anne for not only adopting one of our hounds, but also for her generosity in donating collars and coats to the rescue.
We must also say a big 'thank you' to volunteers Adi and Mandy who initially fostered Mary and confirmed that she was, indeed, cat friendly! Here she is ....one contented hound :)
It was another cold day for fundraising today! Many thanks to Pets at Home, Middlebrook for their hospitality and also to all our volunteers. Thanks go to Angela, Dave A, Lynda, Sandra, Niamh, Janet, Marley and Rose. Hounds representing Makants today were adopted hound Minnie and kennel hound Titch.
Pal has been in foster with a local family for just over a year now, living happily with a female greyhound.
His foster carers say he is ‘a lovely dog, very affectionate and who enjoys plenty of cuddles,’ and they report he is great with people too. You may have noticed him in fundraising photos as Pal has a ‘party trick’ in that he sits on his foster carer’s laps like he is a human! He also likes to sit this way on the settee on occasions.
When he first went into foster Pal was quite reactive towards other breeds of dogs. However, his tolerance of small dogs has improved quite considerably due to work undertaken by his foster carers, exposing him to situations where there are other dogs. We would expect anyone thinking of adopting Pal to continue this vital work. We feel Pal would be happiest as an only dog or living with a female hound.
