We have exciting homing news of another of Janet's pups! The lucky pup to be homed this time is Arthur and he will live with Sue and Nora and their hounds in the Leigh area. We wish them all every happiness for the future.
Mickey has been with his foster carers - David and Catherine - since March this year. They report that he is a hound with a great deal of character who loves his toys and any visitors to the house.
Mickey loves his walks and his carers comment that they've never came across a hound who loves their walks more than Mickey! He also loves to snuggle up with them on the sofa after his exercise. Mickey is fine to be left in the house for a few hours on his own and loves to perform his 'neighbourhood watch' duties while they are away!
Mickey has greatly improved his social skills since being in foster but this is something that will need continued work in order that he can feel comfortable around all breeds of dog he meets.
If you would like to find out more about Mickey featured here please contact Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988 or alternatively register your interest by completing one of our homing forms on our website: www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk
We had a great day on Sunday at the Dogs in Salford festival at what was an enjoyable and well organised event.
Thanks to everyone who came to our stall and to our volunteers Janet, Pat, Pauline, Angela, Mary, Stuart and adopted Makants hound May. Our next fundraiser is next Sunday where we have a stall at the Greyhound Gap Show.
Smasher is currently in foster with Karen and this is what she has to say about her 'Smasher is a lovely girl, very affectionate and likes a cuddle and to relax on the sofa. She’s playful too and especially loves squeaky toys. She gets on great with my greyhound Charlie and is friendly with other dogs we meet, she’s a really happy girl'.
If you are interested in offering a forever home for this smashing girl please contact Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988 or complete the homing questionnaire on our website: www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk
We send our thanks to our volunteers who were representing the rescue at Westhoughton's Yarn Bombing festival at the weekend. They had a special guest helping them for a while, none other than Bolton West M.P. Chris Green. Thanks to everyone for their support.
Yesterday we had a lovely visitor to kennels, our little cake baker Sophie.
Sophie has kindly been baking cakes at her Mum's café in order to raise money for our rescue. She came along with her Mum to hand over the cheque - here she is with Siobhan and adopted hound Daisy. Thank you so much Sophie!
