Four year old CAIN arrived at kennels two weeks ago. In that time we have found that this black beauty absolutely loves people! He is a very happy chappie, always wagging his tail, and in fact he had to be moved to a bigger kennel so he had more room to manoeuvre that tail!
Needless to say Cain always enjoys the arrival of the walkers each day. When out on walks he is unsure of other breeds at the moment, but we feel with more exposure he will soon get used to them. Cain is still getting used to the outside world but is taking all new experiences in his stride. If you would like to find out more about CAIN featured here please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988. Alternatively you can complete a homing enquiry form which can be found on our website www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk under the 'adopt/foster' tab.
We have more fantastic homing news for you again and this time it's PATCH. This very sweet boy has been homed by volunteers Tina and Ian in the Tyldesley area. We wish them much happiness for their future together.
Here they all are after signing on the dotted line last Saturday :)
We are pleased to announce our THIRD Social Dog walk, this time in a change of venue, the dog friendly Crooke Hall Inn, Crooke Village near Wigan.
We will assemble from 10.30 am. with the walk to start at 11 am across open countryside, to last no longer than an hour. Soup, sandwiches and hot drinks will be available to purchase in the cellar bar - which is dog friendly and solely for our use.
**FOR CATERING PURPOSES WE NEED NUMBERS ATTENDING THE WALK. For this purpose please see the event on our facebook page. If you click that you will be attending food will be prepared for you which will need to be paid for on the day.**
There will be a raffle, sale of dog coats, collars, Makants merchandise and Christmas gifts available. CASH ONLY.
The Crooke Hall Inn has a large car park, if this is full please park responsibly around the village.
We were also invited to the Confident Canines event in Leyland this afternoon. Our ambassador for this event was adopted Makants puppy Jessie who was an absolute star. She showed everyone just how chilled greyhounds are and took everything in her stride.
Thanks to Emma for inviting us, for donations received and to our volunteers Jo, Paul and Jenni and to Simon and Mel for allowing them to ‘borrow’ Jessie. (They didn’t want to give her back!)
We had a fundraising team at the Pets at Home store in Middlebrook, Horwich today. It was lovely to be back in store, many thanks to all at Pets at Home for their hospitality and to everyone who came to see us.
Thanks to our volunteers Dave, Lynda, Wendy, Fiona, Kathleen, John, Rose and Sue C. The hound ambassadors today were Kate, Bear, Candy, Pal, May and little Makants pup Arthur - who coped very well with his first fundraiser.
