Stunning big lad Duke arrived with us at the end of October and has settled in well, now two months later we feel he's more than ready for a home of his own.
Our regular volunteer Dave takes Duke out walking most days and reports that he walks well on the lead, and is not reactive when he comes across other breeds of dogs.
This lovely lad recently spent some time in a home and was very well behaved. As Duke is confident, and likes his own company, we think he would be happiest being the only dog in a quiet home.
If you would like to find out more about Duke featured here please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988. Alternatively you can complete our short homing questionnaire on our website www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk which can be found under the ‘adopt/foster’ tab and one of our homing team will respond to your enquiry.
Throughout the past month we have worked with the Support Adoption for Pets charity at our local Pets at Home store in Walkden. We are supporting their Santa Paws Xmas dinners appeal and our volunteers have made regular appearances often with one of our kennel greyhounds. The appeal ends tomorrow (Christmas Eve) and, being a partnered charity, we are awarded half of the proceeds raised, which is a great help towards our daily running costs.
Unbelievably, one of our Makants Five pups is still waiting for a home! Gorgeous six month old Soosy is a sweet natured and affectionate girl who is progressing well in her foster home. She enjoys walks, travels really well in the car and always greets other dogs she meets with respect. She is currently living harmoniously with an older greyhound and three cats - but can’t understand why they all don’t want to play with her!
Soosy is doing well with her toilet training and is clean all night. She loves to play ball and due to the wet weather has decided to leave her garden designing practice until the better weather in the Spring. Soosy has successfully completed a puppy training class and can now sit, stay, lie down and give paw. She also responds well to her name but sometimes has selective hearing as all pups do!
Soosy is now more than ready for a home and we only want the best for her with a prospective family who have carefully considered bringing a puppy into their life. We expect someone to be around for at least part of the day and to have experience of sighthounds. We would also expect Soosy to be spayed at the age recommended by our veterinary practice.
If you would like to find out more about this lovely girl please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988. Alternatively you can complete our homing enquiry form which can be found on our website: www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk
