Three year old Brandy arrived with us late January this year and has settled in well. Initially this bouncy lad was quite strong on the lead but, with input and patience from our volunteers, he soon settled down - in fact he’s now become quite a favourite amongst the walkers!
Brandy really looks forward to and enjoys his daily walks, strangely though he’s as excited to go out as he is to come back into his kennel! He’s such a friendly lad who loves to play and loves cuddles even more. Siobhan sums up this uncomplicated lad by describing him as a dog ‘who just loves life’!
We feel Brandy is now ready to look for his forever family and could live on his own or could, with planned introductions, live with another dog.
If you would like to find out more about Brandy featured here please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988. Alternatively you can complete our short homing questionnaire on our website www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk
Earlier this week we were invited to the Acorns Care Home in Hindley to visit with one of our hounds. Volunteers Lynda and Fiona took kennel hound FAB who enjoyed meeting some of the residents, bringing back memories of his own greyhound for one resident. Thanks to Rob for organising the visit, we look forward to the next one!
Just recently we have noticed groups of work colleagues coming along to volunteer to walk the hounds. What a great idea to spend time together away from the work environment, spend time with the hounds, blow away the cobwebs (literally) and help a local rescue - a win win situation!
If your place of work is interested in helping walk the greyhounds please get in touch via our facebook page or e mail [email protected]
We have some fabulous news to start the week and this time it's JAKE!
Jake, who came into our rescue at the end of last year, has now bagged a great home with Makants hound Luna (was Robin) - they've quickly become best friends too! Jake will also live with Kate and Jamie in the Bolton area and we wish them all every happiness in the future.
