This week we throw the spotlight on the magnificent hound that is OZZY!
Ozzy has been with us since March and has settled well, enjoying the company of the other hounds on his walks. A little like his famous namesake this young lad can have quite an opinion about things, and has been known to bark for his tea if Siobhan dares to be late with it!
Ozzy loves people and would make a great family dog as he likes to be involved with whatever is going on. He loves playing with toys and especially loves treats! Ozzy still needs more practice with other breeds of dog and we are looking for a home where his adopter will be able to continue his training.
Ozzy wouldn’t be suitable to live with a cat or other small furry creatures.
If you would like to find out more about Ozzy featured here please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988. Alternatively you can complete our short homing questionnaire which can be found under the ‘adopt/foster’ tab on our website www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk
We had a great fundraising weekend at the Mythical festival in Wigan. Many thanks to both teams for giving part of their weekend for the greyhounds. Thanks also to everyone who came along to see us, we hope you enjoy some photos from both days.
We're pleased to let you know that kennel hound Pheby recently enjoyed a sleepover with Louise, one of our regular volunteers.
Louise reports that Pheby was an absolute star. Although initially unsure she soon settled and realised where her bed was, making herself quite at home. She had a great time with her toys and spent considerable time removing the squeak from them all!
Pheby was clean in the house and was happy to spend time pottering about and exploring the garden. While the sleepover was only a small step on her rehoming journey it is nonetheless a phenomenal achievement for this girl. Pheby is now ready to look for her forever home.
We need a special someone for her who has greyhound experience and the time to spend with her during her initial settling in period. Pheby needs a quiet home and we cannot home her with small animals or cats and would prefer her to live in an adult only environment. We feel Pheby would settle best as an only hound in the household.
If you would like to find out more about Pheby please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988. Alternatively you can complete our short homing questionnaire on our website www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk
We're putting out a request for large brightly coloured towels this week. Pat, our crafty volunteer, can work wonders and make very attractive cooling coats from these towels. We know they sold very well last year and want to add to our stock.
If you have any towels to donate they can be left at kennels during walking times which are 1.15 - 3 pm week days and 10.15 - 12 pm weekends. Many thanks.
Here's adopted hounds Luna and Jake modelling theirs purchased on Easter Sunday at our Haigh Hall event.
Supporters, we need to bring something to your attention please.
We realise many of you do not know the 'set up' at kennels so we need to let you know that the kennels are based at Siobhan's home. They are NOT open for general viewing of the dogs, visits are strictly by prior arrangement only.
I'm sure you can understand that Siobhan needs to spend uninterrupted time with her family so please do not turn up unannounced.
