Today we are pleased to give you a ‘pupdate’ on the Makants Five. As you know five bundles of fun came into our care at the beginning of September, the pups are now 15 weeks old. Three of the pups are in foster care/home trial and are thriving, enjoying new experiences, enjoying life and just generally being puppies!
However, we do have two female pups still remaining and are continuing to look for foster homes/adoptive homes for them, preferably in the North West of the UK.
We would need to undertake a home check of the prospective carers premises and are looking for homes where someone is around for the majority of the day. It is essential that we place these pups in a safe loving home environment without delay as they are more than ready to leave kennels and need to be exposed to as many new experiences as possible.
Please only get in touch if you believe you can meet a puppy’s needs and have the agreement of everyone in the home situation as, we are sure you are aware, taking a puppy into your home is a big commitment. Also please bear in mind it may take a little while to get back to you after your initial enquiry as all team members at Makants are volunteers but we will endeavour to reply within a few days.
HOW TO APPLY: In the first instance we would ask anyone interested to please submit a homing form which can be found on our website www.makantsgreyhoundrescue.co.uk under the ‘adopt/foster’ tab. If you wish to discuss your application you can contact Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or alternatively Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988.
Tony arrived in kennels in May this year, a big dog with a big personality to match and a very friendly boy too. Tony absolutely loves his walks and gets so excited in kennels that he does a great impression of ‘Tigger’ as he is unable to contain his excitement when a walk is imminent. Tony is calm when on his actual walk and is excellent on the lead, not reacting to dogs he meets.
Volunteer walker Sue has regularly walked Tony and says this about him:
‘Tony is a lovely boy, despite his kangaroo impersonation in the kennel! Once out and about he is very calm. He walks nicely on his lead and does not seem to be very reactive, more nosey!
I have walked him around Worsley Woods and Roe Green where he was fascinated with ducks and swans, cricket and especially bowls. We also popped into a tea room garden for a drink and shared a scone and he was a gentleman enjoying a fuss off staff’.
We believe Tony will make a great family dog as he has a lot of love to give. If you would like to find out more about him please contact either Sue our re-homing co-ordinator on 07794463249 or Siobhan at kennels on 07960561988
